Drugstore makeup has amazing products for great prices. However, drugstore brands can have very high claims — sometimes they work…and sometimes they don’t. So that’s why I love putting them to the test! Today’s beauty blog post will look at Revlon’s new Mega Multiplier mascara and put it’s claims to the test! So let’s move on into the review.
First, I wanted to give Revlon a huge thumbs up for the sleek packaging. The mascara tube is matte black and looks super high end, especially for a drugstore product. The mascara retails for $5.97 CAN on Walmart.ca, and has 0.28 fl oz of product (which is standard product size!).
My very first impression of the product was that the wand was a great cone shape with a pointed tip to really get into the inner corner lashes. I also noticed the formula was dry compared to some of my other favourite mascara’s like L’Oreal’s Voluminous. I tend to love wet formula’s better, but was intrigued to try out something different.
The product claims to “plump” and “extend lashes” with a 360 fibre technology that is smudge, flake and water proof. After trying the product for the first time I did notice the fibres in the mascara, however they did not add as much volume and length as it claimed. However, it gave a very natural look and coated each lash while perfectly separating them.
Its claims of smudge, flake and water proof are 100% true! After wearing the mascara for over 6 hours there was no fall out on my cheeks that I usually get from other mascaras. Even after a hot humid day there was no smudging on my lids or under my lower lash line. Because it is water proof, it did take an oil based make up remover to get rid of all the product at the end of the day.
Would I recommend?
If you are looking for a voluminizing and lengthening mascara, this is probably not the product for you. However if you have oily lids or are planning to be out in humidity then this mascara will do just the trick! The fibres add a nice natural flutter to your lashes and keep your eyes looking soft and fresh.
