I can’t believe how fast January passed! Already a month into the new year and I have been buying makeup and skincare products like crazy. After a recent shopping trip to Buffalo NY, I hauled some amazing products from Ulta (oh how much I love that store… seriously!). One of my New Year’s resolutions was to get a better skin care routine…so let’s justify my spending this month as keeping up a goal.
Here are my favourite products from January that are totally worth the hype:
NYX Total Control Drop Foundation
This is seriously one of the best foundations I have ever used! I recommend using this with a beauty blender for best coverage, I tried a synthetic brush and found the application to be patchy. I have such a hard time matching my foundation to my fair skin tone, and this matched perfectly (almost no need to blend down my neck). For only $14.50 you really can’t go wrong, but don’t forget a primer to help it last all day!
Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rose Water
BEST. SPRAY. EVER. Seriously, I have used this spray everyday this past month! It has so many uses it crazy, from hydrating dry skin, to primer and finishing spray, this is overall an amazing skincare product. The smell is so refreshing and I will be purchasing a new bottle for sure! This is an amazing product for sensitive skin.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water
As you can see I’ve be loving sprays this month, and this primer water is so worth the internet hype! I picked up the travel size for an upcoming trip, but would recommend the full size if sprays are your thing. I used it along with moisturizer under my foundation and made the foundation application flawless. I also used it to spray my shadow brushes to give extra pigment to glitter shadows!
Mario Badescu Drying Lotion
Being back at school always comes with stress… and breakouts. After my night time skin care routine, I apply the pink lotion to whiteheads with a cotton swab and leave it on over night. In the morning the whiteheads had dried up, however there was still redness. It took another night of using the product to remove the whiteheads all together, but an amazing product for those pesky zits!
Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
When I first saw this product I was so confused by what an under eye primer could be useful for. But being a product junkie, I had to try it because I was already loving the Smashbox Primer Water. The product claims to brighten, smooth and moisturize under eyes; I found the product to moisten dry patches and give better application for concealer, however it didn’t really brighten my under eyes as much as I would have liked. But if you get dry under eyes like I do, I definitely recommend picking this up!
