When it comes to date night or a night in with your friends it’s easy to fall in to routine. Usually I find plans always end up being dinner and a movie—classic. Now,while checking out a cool new restaurant or going to see the latest blockbuster isn’t a terrible idea, it does get repetitive and the thrill of trying something new is lost.
But don’t be discouraged! After my many nights of “Pinterest-ing” while cuddled up in bed, I stumbled upon the BEST date night inspiration from a website called The Dating Divas. And now I’m excited to share them with you!
They have hundreds of ideas for date night, and while most are geared towards couples, I can totally see myself using them for a night in with the girls—a night in paris anyone?
So of course I had to try one of The Dating Divas ideas for a summer date night. After scrolling through their Pinterest to find an easy last-minute date, I found an “Under the Stars” themed date.
The best part of these date ideas…. it’s not expensive at all! With the adorable printables they provide (for FREE!), most of the work is done for you!
So after downloading the “Under the Stars” printables, I headed to Staples and printed out cup holders, an invitation, a cute themed quote and a star guide on card stock for ONLY $5!!!! Then headed to Wal-Mart for the popcorn and s’mores supplies which ended up being $10. Then to the dollar store for popcorn bags and to-go cups, and that cost $3. So in total date night cost us only $18— a major difference from the usual $50 dinner bill and $20 movie tickets.
We grabbed blankets, home-made hot chocolate and our date night kit and headed out to a conservation area to watch the stars. It was so much fun and we even got to see a shooting star! And best of all it was boyfriend approved.
